Mambo Coffee Company is strengthening its commitment to coffee quality and continuous professional development following the successful completion of Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) training by two members of its Quality Team.
The training was conducted at the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) facilities in Moshi and was supported by the International Trade Centre (ITC) through the EAC MARKUP II Programme.
The programme provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their technical knowledge and practical skills through an intensive learning programme designed around the SCA Coffee Skills Programme.
Combining Technical Learning with Practical Experience
To support effective learning and practical engagement, participants were organised into groups and undertook intensive training sessions that combined classroom learning with hands-on practical work.
The programme included:
- Two days of intensive training;
- A dedicated day for revision and examinations;
- Practical laboratory sessions; and
- Assessments aligned with the SCA Coffee Skills Programme.
The practical component was particularly valuable in strengthening participants’ ability to apply technical knowledge in a real coffee quality environment.
